What about a new type of probes, that allows you to scan down cloaked ships? Maybe make them take a lot longer to scan down a target (as in like, 15 minutes to scan down a target), that way you couldn't use it to scan down active cloakies. Howeve...

I would imagine most people fit rails over blasters on the merlin due to the ship's bonus. 10% to small hybrid turret optimal range per level. Blasters have a smaller optimal, which gains less benefit from the bonus. I could be wrong though.
